Change

I turned 18 last month and now the gate is opening... everything is changing! Its a little scary and overwhelming to think about the future, and how close it is. But I keep having to remind myself that change is not a bad thing. In fact its why we are here on this earth, to learn and grow and change.

Spring is always a wonderful reminder of how beautiful change can be. That we need to not be afraid to let one season of our life go in order to start another even more beautiful one.

Sticky note love ;)

This is what happens if I leave my friends unsupervised in my house...
They left these in secret hiding places everywhere!! My little sisters have been so excited when they find one that was really well hidden :)

Thanks guys, you brightened all our days!

General Conference Quotes

This Conference weekend has been amazing! So many wonderful and inspiring messages from the apostles of the Lord were shared. My personal theme from this conference was Peace and Hope. In every message it seemed a subtle theme of peace or hope was hidden, the whole spirit of the conference gave this feeling to me.
Each conference truly re-awakens me to the gospel, re-invigorates me to do more. I am defiantly not a prefect person, which is why it is so nice to have the Prophets of God encouraging us to do better and reminding us of who we really are twice a year. It really is a gift!

What was your favorite part of conference? Quotes, themes?

ps. Sorry I was so horrible at posting this week, I was really out of it. I'll do better this week.

Beauty

Remember to take the time to appreciate beauty no matter what form it manifests its self in. Doing this can breath new life into you and help you through your life.

To often we can go through our lives with the conveyor belt mind set, everything gets boring and mundane because we are so set on getting... where exactly? That is when we need to remember to look for those beautiful things around us. Beauty surrounds us in so many ways every day. Art, nature, music, writing, people, animals, architecture, FOOD! Just open your eyes!

My personal definition of beauty is anything that makes you go WOW, SIGH, or just smile like a simpleton. Pretty simple right? Here are some things that I find really beautiful.

What is your definition of beauty?

Spring and New Life!

Today is the first day of spring! YAY! The sky is blue, and its only a matter of time before there are blossoms on the trees, flowers, and green grass. I love spring because its a wonderful reminder and illustration of new life.

We attended the Provo City Center Temple dedication today, and that was also a great illustration of new life. It burnt to the ground, but they rebuilt it into something even more wonderful.

The winter drains me, but every spring I feel new life entering and re-energizing me.

I have no doubt that easter is in the spring time for a reason. The whole world is being reborn! There is no greater reminder than what is all around us. This easter and spring time look around you at all the beauty and know that it is only a small percent of the beauty of the life that is to come. And remember all this is possible because of our Savior. He makes new life possible.

Here are some wonderful videos from Mormon.org that tie in and I think you will like...

Wanderlust

If travel didn't cost anything, and all people could be trusted I would be gone today! I've always wanted to travel the world and it is a dream that I will make come true. I don't care how hard it will be I just want to get out there and see and experience everything for myself, not just in pictures from my computer screen.

Where is the place you most want to travel to? My first stop would be Europe, anywhere and everywhere in Europe :)

Small and Simple

You never know what effects your actions are going to have. But we do know this simple fact; good actions will lead to good outcomes and bad actions to bad outcomes.

A problem we are facing in this world is that people are to afraid to act. I guess people think that they have to do something big and amazing to have any influence on the world but thats just not true. By small and simple things are great things brought to pass, and we can do those things. Its as easy as saying something nice to someone you wouldn't normally talk to, or helping someone carry something, or even giving someone a smile. You never know what kind of an effect that could have on that persons day.

The world needs more small and simple. If we all do are part the world will be a much brighter place.

Families and Mission Quotes

I thought I would post these because they are nice simply quotes, and I love the water color backgrounds :)

Its very important for us to remember what is said in these quotes. We have families for a reason. We are here to help and support each other.
Our personal missions are all different, and God has us all in his mind. Remember this as you go through your week.

Don't Compare, Just be Happy!

Everyone is different, everyone is special, and everyone has there own path in life. If you try to compare your life with any one else you will never be content.

"The grass is always greener on the other side." For all you know they could be looking at you wishing they had your life.

God has a plan for everyone and not one is the same. Love yourself and love your life. We were sent to earth to be happy, so don't spoil it for yourself by comparing yourself to others.

Late Night Idea Sale!

I have sooo many random notes on the note app on my phone. Most of them are story ideas/dreams I had in the middle of the night (so ya a lot of them don't make any since.) But because I have some from a couple years ago I thought I would give some of them up for grabs...

- Super power, shoot blood from your eyes like a horned lizard.

- Boy fairy names: (from thinking about Midsummer) Dirt, Newt, Toadstool, Egg Head, and Bob...

- Names: Natiki Marumi, Maylambo Teyami, Ponoki Kahonola

- Write the story of treasure hunters after they got the treasure... Now what?

- (this is just a note that I found apparently its supposed to be good writing software) Skrivner

- Bad blood (by taylor swift) music video about insane people breaking out of a therapy session in the park. They explore the strange sights and stores as they are being hunted by the security guards, Then its a showdown in the park.

- Start book half way through an adventure from the perspective of someone who has just had their memory whipped. (don't say maze runner) they are being told what they did it the first half, second half they have to chose if they believe its true or not.

- all magical creature have adapted to the world today by changing to look like people.

-on a differnt planet it takes many years for a day sun cycle to be completed. Like there is no night for a long time so it will be day for like a year and then night for a year...

-People are split up into day people and night owl people. Only the night people have to keep away the monsters.

-Book title for romance: Fighting Friction :)

- Death in love with a young girl. He keeps her alive through terrible accidents when she really should have died. He can't get close to her or she will die. Unless she wears Deaths ring then she can see Death. She goes crazy. Maybe she had a boyfriend who death kills.

- The World today with all the magical races integrated.

- Dystopian Genre. In the city there are two levels of people. The garbage people basically, and the tower people. It's a super tall building. Looks very advanced. And is the only structure built after the destruction. In the tower there are many different things. There is even a singing group. Their job is to sing to the lower people and being them joy. (But the singers also get Benefits) It was a really random dream.

- (ok I had this dream right after studying 1900 fashion) Our hair was very much 1910 big puffy bun with rolled/puffed tucked up bangs.Tweed was a very big fabric choice and really the only presentable one. It was worn in shirt and skirt and bag. Pleated skirts down to the middle of the calf. Then white high stockings. Little black strapless shoes that come off every five seconds. On the top still tweed but little cap sleeves were worn. It was a shorter top with a high skirt.Every lady had a home made felt, embroidered, 6 pointed collar, cape shoal thing. The cape is where most of the color for their outfit comes from. Then the bag (also tweed) hangs over the left elbow pit. You carry it everywhere with you.
Having an escort is also a very important thing. It sets you apart from child to woman. In my dream I had dropped all of my things but an escort (whom I had expected to be a handsome young man) was a great big Scottish bear. He was very kind and proper (if not slotted loud) but he was kind.

WOW OK THATS A LOT. Hope you can draw something from all this madness.

Stuck in a Rut

Sometimes as we go through life we become "Stuck in a *Rut".
*Rut definition: a habit or pattern of behavior that has become dull and unproductive but is hard to change.
*Adding personal definition: a challenge/temptation or road block that stops you from progressing for any number of reasons.

Unlike other challenges we may face, becoming "stuck in a rut" is purely our own choice. Now that doesn't mean that we have full power of avoiding a rut, it just means we can choose what we do when we get there.

On the road of life there are ruts that are sometimes unavoidable and we have no choice but to go into them to get past them. A lot of the time you won't even notice your in one until you've already climbed out. Each rut is filled with unshaped material that represents our time and challenges we will face there.

Sometimes getting stuck in a rut means having to wait for the rain (or challenges) to come before being able to either sink or swim out of it.

Sometimes we can realize by ourselves that where we are is not a good place and reshape our lives into something that will lift us higher.

Other times though we will forget where we are going and make ourselves comfortable in the place where we're at. This is the most dangerous because we are on this journey for a reason and if we become content with the way we are right now and have no more motive to progress further we will never reach our final destination.

Now sometimes you might think "what's the point? I just keep falling" but when you think this remember to look at the bigger picture and at how far you've already come...

So when you get stuck in a rut remember you are on a journey. You are here to progress so get out of that rut as fast as you can and keep climbing up.
