I'm a writer. I like to write. Yup. But I don't really like to share my writing with anyone. So now I'm going to share it with everyone!...
Here is some small free writing I did not long ago. Actually for a Creative Writing class I'm teaching.
I wrote it based on this prompt...
Your protagonist and antagonist wake up in a warehouse with no memory of who they are or how they got there.
(The girl who's view we are in is the antagonist.)
Saw dust filled my lungs and I woke coughing. Streams of light eliminated parts of the room in stark contrast from the dark that filled most of it. Where was I? I stood slowly but stars still blurred my head as I stood. How did I get here? A gun lay on the ground. My heart began to race as I became more and more confused.
I circled around searching for away out, but stopped as my attention was caught by a shape lying still in one of the streams of light. It was a body. Remembering the gun I grew more anxious as I ran towards it. The boy was unconscious by as far as I could tell unharmed. I shook him and he slowly came to. As he looked up at me I immediately knew, even though I didn't know why, that I should fear him. I jumped up quickly and backed up a few feet as if he were poisonous.
"Where am I?" he said. I was reluctent to answer but still spoke.
"I don't know." He rose to his feet as slowly and as disoriented as I did. "Who are you?" I said summoning up my courage and stepping closer. The boy looked confused and took a moment before answering.
"I don't know." He said and looked at me as a strange look crossed his face. Then he stretched his had out to my face. I flinched, but he softly touched my cheek. "You're bleeding." He said. Then showed the blood he had wiped away. I hadn't noticed.
"What happened here?" I said as my voice shook, but I had decided to trust him. After all we were both in this together.
